Robert Matthew Achurra (Matt), age 41, passed away on Sunday, January 1, 2023, at St. Clare Hospital in Lakewood, Washington.
Matt grew up in Fallon, Nevada where he graduated from Churchill County High School. Having been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at a young age, Matt often volunteered his time for diabetic research projects as a way to share what he had learned and help others.
He lived a life full of love and compassion, often helping others before himself.
Matt passed peacefully, surrounded by family, friends, and an amazingly compassionate nursing team. Although he left us too soon, he made a lasting impact on his friends and family. Matt is survived by his daughter Serenity Achurra, parents Robert and Paula Achurra, brother Stephen Achurra (Susan), and grandparents Norma Achurra and Roy and Gail Van den Heuvel.
Services will be Saturday, February 11 at 1:00 p.m. at The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, NV 89406.

Comment text: A little disappointed in the parade and fireworks. With it being America's 250th Birthday, there should have been some more history, as in pioneers walking behind wagons.....etc. And as for fireworks, should have been more spectacular, like seeing hearts, and smiling faces and an American flag all dine in fire works.
