Coalition Youth Summit this Weekend

Coalition Youth Summit this Weekend
FALLON, Nevada – Churchill Community Coalition’s Third Annual Youth Summit, “Embracing You”, on May 3rd-5th at the Old High School Pit,  seeks to help youth, and adults working with youth, understand the many facets of their identities and provide them with skills and tools that help them create positive social change. Students may feel that there are uncertain things occurring in the world right now. This summit provides participants the opportunity to explore these uncertainties and begin to find their purpose through means of mindfulness, music, substance abuse prevention, yoga, art therapy, sustainability, media awareness, cultural humility and collective collaboration. Registration is $25/student ages 11-19 and $35/adult. Registration fee includes entry into Family Bingo Night on Friday, meals for the weekend, and all other conference materials. Scholarships are available to students in need of financial assistance. Register online: Bit.ly/embracingyouRegister for Embracing You To apply for a scholarship, email [email protected] “Embracing You” is an opportunity for Nevada youth with diverse backgrounds to come together and really strategize what change they would like to see. Attendants will participate in group activities, classes, sustainability service-projects and guided self-reflection to dive deep into what it means to embrace ALL aspects of themselves. Participants ages sixteen and older will have the opportunity to participate in a Shoulder Tap Compliance activity with our local Fallon Police Department. Facilitators include CCHS graduates who have since traveled the world, started their own businesses, created their own music and truly lived their lives to the fullest. Other facilitators include young adults from throughout the West Coast who are creating positive change in their communities through activism, nature conservation, cultural preservation, music and the arts, and inspiring others to do the same. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
