Fall 2022 Semester Starts on Aug. 29; Students Have Additional Options

Fa ll semester at Western Nevada College is a month away so students should make sure they have taken care of their requirements to prepare for a successful year.

WNC’s variety of in-person and online classes gives students the flexibility to create a schedule that meets their personal needs. Refer to a schedule of classes online at wnc.edu/class-schedule/ to assist you in planning for fall semester.

Additionally, students don’t have to start classes on Aug. 29. WNC offers instructional modes that will meet their needs. More than 20 available courses are classified as open entry, allowing students to enroll as late as the ninth week of the semester to complete the course and receive full credit. WNC also offers short-term and late-start classes beginning in October.

Popular college programs right now are American Sign Language, Welding, Nursing, Organization and Project Management, Fire Science, HVAC, Manufacturing, IT, Psychology, Geology, Education and more. Invest in an education to develop or change a professional career that better suits you.

For students in pursuit of an associate degree, in addition to smaller class sizes and lower tuition costs, WNC is known as a friendly transfer institution. Students can complete their associate degree at WNC, then transfer to the University of Nevada, Reno or elsewhere to complete their bachelor’s degree.

If you are planning to attend WNC for the first time, apply for admission at www.wnc.edu/starthere/. Continuing students can register for classes through their myWNC account.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
