JV Softball Results
Submitted courtesy of Christine Mori -- Greenwave JV girls softball had great weekend going 3-0, winning a close game against the Douglas Tigers on Thursday night, and winning 2 games against the Elko Indians on Friday and Saturday.  So far this season, the JV girls are 11-5 with 1 tie, with their losses all coming to 4-A schools. Game 1 against the Douglas Tigers:   Greenwave won 5-4 Franny Mori pitched 6 innings, giving up 3 runs and had 3 strike outs.   Shayda Lofthouse finished the game, giving up 1 run.  Samantha Frost went 2-4, Franny Mori went 2-3, hitting a home run in the 6th inning, and hit Raelynn Neumann in for the winning run in the bottom of the 8th. Game 2 against the Elko Indians:  Greenwave won 13-1 Lainey Reid pitched, striking out 5 and holding the Indians to 1 run, with a great defensive effort by the Greenwave. Samantha Frost went 3-4; Trinity Helton went 2-2, with a homerun;  Lainey Reid and Raelynn Neumann both went 2-2, Destiny Tonti went 2-4, ending the game with a walk-off home run. Game 3 against the Elko Indians:  Greenwave won 16-11 Trinity Helton pitched 4 innings, striking out 5, giving up 7 runs; Sadoni Downs pitched part of the 5th inning, giving up 3 runs, with Shayda Lofthouse finishing up the game with 2 strikeouts, giving up 1 run.  On the offensive side, Samantha Frost was the highlight of the game, going  an impressive 5-5; and Emily Clyburn went 2-4 with a grand slam in the 4th.  Hudsyn Clark also went 3-4 for a solid game. The Greenwave will take on Reed High School @ Reed this Tuesday.   Then the Greenwave takes on Sparks High School @ Sparks on Friday and Saturday.   Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page.
