Obituary -- Calvin (Bud) Thomas Tippets
Bud Tippets

Calvin (Bud) Thomas Tippets

Born in Ajo, Arizona, Bud was one of three children, (Betty Jo, Bud, and Chuck) born to Charles and Grace Tippets. At the age of 85, Bud died peacefully surrounded by his family.  He is proceeded by his wife Pat, parents Charles and Grace, and his sister, Betty Jo Taylor.

Bud attended school in Victorville, California,  where he spent most of his life. In the 1990s he moved to Nampa, Idaho where he and his wife Pat spent their days with Pat’s family, making a lot of friends and attending church regularly.

Bud’s interests were vast, and he prided himself on his studies of nature and how things work.  His knowledge and his diverse experience made for great conversation with friends and family of all ages.  An electrician by trade, he was the guy who could fix anything. He was also an amazing dancer of country swing and two-step. He loved the outdoors and searching the desert and mountains for unique stones that he fashioned into hand-crafted jewelry for his family and dear friends.

Bud has been living in Fallon, Nevada for the last 6 years where he has enjoyed being close to his family and made many friends at the Life Center. He will be missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his son Tom and wife Ruth Tippets, daughter Amy and husband Neil Zimney, daughter Jill and husband Jim Fine, his seven grandchildren Sarah Escareno, Michelle Cruz, Vanessa Hammond, Derek Zimney, Kyle Fine, Lisa Nelson, Whitney Barnhart, and fourteen great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held for Bud on Sunday, December 12th, at 11 a.m. at the Twisted Branch Event Hall, 355 First St. in Fallon, Nevada.

Arrangements are under The Gardens Funeral Home, 775-423-8928.

I was fortunate enough to have met and get to know Calvin a bit while working at the WNP Life Center in 2020 - 2021. We looked for him every day in our drive-thru lunch line during the COVID closure. He was quite a character and I truly enjoyed teasing with him at lunch! He was very kind with a great sense of humor and a green thumb in the garden. He will be missed. My condolences to his family.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
