At approximately 1:00 a.m. Sunday morning, an explosion at the Fallon RV Park cost one man his life.
According to Danny Rahal, manager of the park, the victim was a man in his 60’s and had been residing in the park since last November. Rahal heard the explosion during the night and went to investigate, only to learn the motor home was on fire, and the victim was inside.

The Fallon/Churchill Volunteer Fire Department and deputies with Churchill County Sheriff’s Office were on scene less than a minute and a half, according to Rahal, who said, “The flames were so high, they reached above trees.” The victim’s Ford Explorer also caught on fire, and the RVs on both sides of the explosion sustained minor damage. Fortunately, the occupants inside were safe and unharmed. No other structures or vehicles were destroyed.

Rahal stated that the Fallon RV Park is open and all utilities are still in service, and no damage done was beyond the RV space where the fire occurred.
The Nevada State Fire Marshall was on the scene early Sunday morning to investigate; however, the cause of the blaze has yet to be released. More information will be released as it becomes available.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
