I have never seen an episode of The Bachelor, Bachelorette, Bachelor in Paradise, Bachelor Live, Bachelor Presents, or any other part of the franchise. This week was my first dip into the pool that thousands of people around the country already love.
This season, 32 women compete for the affection of a random man named Matt James. James has never appeared in any other version of The Bachelor, as have several past contestants. The 33 people are experiencing the entire universe of reality television love for the first time. The most important thing is this entire group is meeting one another during quarantine. These people spent nine months single and alone, and now are fighting to the death for the affection of one person.
I will add, if this show is for you, that is great. Everyone has their own escape.
At the same time, I do not understand this show. I do not see an outcome for this season where the situation doesn’t turn into Gladiator. That being said, I am forcing myself to watch each week of this series until the end to see if the many people who’ve persuaded me to watch it have any possible credibility in their arguments.
I do not recommend this show as entertainment, or fun, rather as a social experiment. See how you react to the idea of 32 women in their early to mid-twenties fighting for one man in his late twenties, for an engagement that will likely not last.

Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories.
The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it.
Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all.
An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile.
For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
