City of Fallon Meeting Notes

The first order of business at the City of Fallon Council meeting on Monday, November 2nd, was a yearly proclamation signed by Mayor Tedford to announce the month of November, “No Shave November.” The proclamation honors those who are battling, lost to, or survived cancer. Cancer is the second leading cause of death in the United States.

Mayor Tedford said, “people ask why I have a beard, and it gives me the opportunity to talk about screenings, support research, awareness, and treatment of cancer.”

Resolution 20-10, a resolution to add stop signs on the east and west legs of the intersection of Serpa Place and North Broadway Street, also passed unanimously.

Mayor Tedford said regarding the process for installing these stop signs, “Some mediation was done in neighborhoods which did help, but it was not enough.”

With these additions, this intersection will now be a four-way stop.

The final order of business for the council was Resolution 20-09, by which the council authorized two million dollars to make several improvements to city properties. First, the funding will be used to improve the employee breakroom and women’s bathroom area in City Hall to bring them into compliance with disability accessibility. Also on the list are improvements to the public works building, construction of a fixed base operator building at the municipal airport, as well as refinancing outstanding obligations for the city.

Legal and Administrative Director Robert Erquiaga said that, “if the resolution is approved, it is the first step for the process with the department of taxation and to request bids for the construction work.” These projects follow a planning process with a ten-year timeline, and will not incur debt.

Public minutes and agendas are accessible on the City of Fallon website, for more detailed information see: https://www.fallonnevada.gov/archived-meeting-agendas/

The next meeting of the Fallon City Council is scheduled for Monday, November 16, at 9 a.m., at City Hall, 55 W. Williams Avenue, Fallon. The Fallon City Council normally meets on the first and third Mondays of each month.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
