General Election Details from the County Clerk's Office

General Election Details from the County Clerk's Office

The general election is just three months away, scheduled for Tuesday, November 3rd but with the Nevada Legislature approving mail-in ballots, it will be anything but business as usual. Erin Montalvo, election clerk at the Churchill County Clerk’s office, has provided the dates and guidelines to help during this election season.

The legislature passed a bill during their special session the first week of August, that requires all counties to send mail-in ballots to all active voters by late September. However, In-person voting will be available both during the early voting period and on Election Day. To account for COVID-19 changes during in-person voting, there will be fewer voting machines, and voters must wear a mask. Early voting will be held at 155 N. Taylor St, from Saturday, October 17, 2020 from 10am to 6pm, October 19th to the 23rd from 8am to 6pm, October 24th from 10am to 6pm, and October 26th to the 30th from 8am to 6pm.

The election day polling place is yet to be determined and will be held on November 3, 2020 from 7am to 7pm.

As for the mail-in ballots, they must be mailed or dropped off at the Clerk’s office, or dropped off at two secure boxes in front of the Recorder’s entrance and Clerk’s entrance of the County Administration Building. Dropped off ballots must be returned by 7pm on November 3, 2020. If ballots are mailed, they must be postmarked on or before November 3, 2020, and received in the office on or before November 10, 2020.

To make sure voters are qualified, any changes in registration must be made by these dates:

October 6, 2020 – The last day, by mail or in-person, to register to vote, update registration, or change party affiliation.

October 7th - 15th - Voters can register, update registration, or change party affiliation online only.

October 16th - 29th - Voters may register, update registration, or change party affiliation online only, but must vote in-person. Voter needs to provide a valid Nevada driver’s license or Nevada identification card and a proof of residency.

October 17th - 30th & November 3rd - Voters may register, update registration, or update party affiliation at the polling center during polling hours. The voter needs to provide a valid Nevada driver’s license or Nevada identification card and a proof of residency.

October 27th - The last day to request a replacement mail-in ballot.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
