Fourth of July Parade in Downtown Fallon

Plans are coming together for the Fallon 4th of July celebrations including a parade, auto racing, and fireworks. Co-sponsored and cordinated by the City of Fallon, Churchill County, the Downtown Merchant's Association, and the Chamber of Commerce, festivities will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an old fashioned parade along the traditional parade route -- from the middle school, north on Taylor Street across Williams with a jog around the Homestead and American Legion, and then south on Maine Street.

If you are a local business, group, or organization that would like to be in the local Fallon 4th of July parade, stop by to fill out your application at the Chamber of Commerce office at 85 N. Taylor Street, and get your float ready around the theme, "Spring Sports, Apple Pie, & the 4th of July.”

Awards will be given for the categories of Best Use of Theme, Best Youth, Best Civic/Non-Profit Group,  Best Business Entry, Best Mounted Individual, Best Mounted Group, Best Farm Equipment,  Best Ag, Best Automobile, Best Military, Most Patriotic, Presenters’ Choice and People’s Choice.

This year, the parade will be held in honor of the healthcare workers from Banner Churchill Community Hospital as Grand Marshalls.

After the parade , in keeping with tradition, there will be circle-track racing at Rattlesnake Raceway beginning at 6:00 p.m. and Fireworks will start at 9:30 p.m.
