Sisolak to address Phase 1 Reopening at 3pm

Carson City, NV — Today, Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak will hold a press conference to announce plans and a date for Phase 1 reopening in Nevada, which is now slated to occur before the May 15 date previously set forth last week.

The press conference will be held at 3 p.m., Thursday, May 7 inside Room 2149 of the Nevada State Legislature in Carson City and will be streamed online on the leg.state.nv.us website.

Members of the media may enter after the building after 2:30 p.m. and are asked to enter through the rear, near the East entrance by the parking garage. Reporters are encouraged to wear facial coverings and will be subject to temperature screenings upon entering the building.

TV stations will be able to bring in their own camera equipment but must set up their cameras six feet apart, and are asked to limit the size of their crew to maintain social distancing during the press conference.

To ensure a clear audio and visual feed of the Governor, the press conference will not be able to accommodate a phone-in feed for reporters who are not physically present. Reporters are encouraged to work with their sister/affiliate stations to obtain feed and submit questions in advance.

Last week, Gov. Sisolak extended the Stay at Home directive to May 15. The Governor also unveiled Nevada United: Roadmap to Recovery, the State’s plan to reopen the economy, put Nevadans back to work and transition into new normal while continuing to employ safeguards against COVID-19.

WHO: Gov. Steve Sisolak

WHAT: Phase 1 reopening plans for Nevada United: Roadmap to Recovery

WHEN: Thursday, May 6 at 3 p.m.

WHERE: Nevada State Legislature, Room 2149
401 S. Carson Street, Carson City, NV
Streaming online at: leg.state.nv.us

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
