Book Review -- Redhead by the Side of the Road

Redhead by the Side of the Road by Anne Tyler
Book Review -- Redhead by the Side of the Road

Micah Mortimer is a single, middle-aged man whose life is governed by routine. He gets by managing a small apartment complex and as a self-employed computer tech. He runs daily, drives carefully as if someone is keeping score, has a chore for each day of the week, and seldom deviates from his predictable life. Then his lady friend announces she is at risk of eviction and a young man appears who claims to be Micah’s son. His routine is upset in a big way and he takes a hard look at his life and who he is. I’ve been reading Tyler for years and she never disappoints when it comes to the human condition.

This title is available to download from Overdrive/Libby in ebook and eaudio formats on the library website at www.churchillcountylibrary.org.

Carol Lloyd is the Director of the Churchill County Library. She thinks she might be turning into a hermit. And possibly enjoying it.

Comment author: Jeff goings Comment text: September 11, article Civics 101 I would like to commend Rachael Dahl and the Fallon post for their article. Civics 101. This is a reminder that we as citizens live in a representative form of government and why it is so important that we vote as voting is our way of making our voice heard. When we bought our land in Kingston, Sis regaled us with her stories of gatherings at the old restaurant & bar on the way to Groves lake. Sis often said, 'What happens in Kingston stays in Kingston!' Fun & funny lady. Comment publication date: 9/8/26, 5:58 PM Comment source: Marilyn J. “Sis” Banovich Comment author: Ruth Fiege Comment text: So sorry for the pain your family is suffering. She is in comfort of Jesus arms. This is Ruth Fiege, Gary's cousin from WI. I can't begin to imagine the pain your family is suffering. So much comfort in knowing she and baby are with Jesus.
