Goodrum Guilty of First-Degree Murder

Jury Imposes sentence of Prison for Life Without the Possibility of Parole By Rachel Dahl – The jury trial of Mitchell Goodrum concluded last Wednesday, January 16th, when Goodrum was found guilty of four charges brought against him for the murder of Warren Butler on March 21, 2017. Goodrum, age 54, was charged with the open murder of 72-year-old Warren Butler, attempt to commit murder with the use of a deadly weapon, battery with a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm, and assault with a deadly weapon after stabbing Butler at the Overland Hotel in March of 2017. After a ten-day trial, the jury found Goodrum guilty of first-degree murder with the use of a deadly weapon and against an elderly person, sentencing him to life in the Nevada State Prison without the possibility of parole.  Sentencing by Senior District Court Judge Robert Estes on the remaining three counts will occur on March 22, 2019. Represented by Charles Woodman, and Peter Smith, Goodrum originally pled not guilty to the charges on November 7, 2017 at the Tenth Judicial District Court. Attorneys Lane Mills, Chief Deputy District Attorney and Jeffrey Weed, Deputy District Attorney represented the prosecution. Who and what they REALLY were. Because they were devotional and IMPORTANT to the humans they connected with. The content of their life bled so that others could feel their own life’s importance. Teachers of justifiable life and art. That all can absorb and use as the best fertilizer for THEIR lives. Giving the silent secrets and the loud guidance. The Melon Man was a perfect specimen for how to devote. His passing meant a life book of feeling/knowing what gives other humans their paths to Love and Knowledge. Some humans are meant to show others their paths. And in that they secrete ways to profitably exist.Comment publication date: 3/18/26, 4:50 PMComment source: In memorium -- The Melon Man
