Statement from Mayor Tedford

Statement from Mayor Tedford

Statement of Mayor Ken Tedford — March 18, 2020

Your City and County leaders are well-prepared, and we will continue to take the steps necessary to protect our community; being prepared, staying calm with no panic.

I applaud Governor Sisolak for his decision-making and courage during these uncertain and unprecedented times.  I am confident that he has done what he believes is necessary to protect Nevadans from this virus and I encourage everyone to follow his lead.  Let’s do our best to stay home and stop the spread of this virus.

I know many families may suffer during this very unique time in our history.  Always in Fallon we get through difficult times by relying on family, friends, and faith.  We must continue to do so now, and we will do well as a community.  I am counting on all of you to pull together with a strong positive mindset and we will do great.  We live in a great City in a great County in a great State in a great Country.  Always keep that in mind.

Never miss a meeting or community event – keep an eye on the community calendar at https://www.thefallonpost.org/events/ If you like what we’re doing, please support our effort to provide local, independent news and contribute to The Fallon Post, your online news source for all things Fallon.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
