New Business - The Grid

New Business - The Grid
By Susan Weikel —  Initially Tiffany and Paul Picotte had planned to start their own small brew pub, but things didn’t work out. One evening while Paul was looking on Craig’s List, he found a listing for Sandwinds. Last January, they went and spoke with Larry Miller, the owner at the time, and on Oct. 15th, 2019, Tiffany and Paul became the new owners of The Grid, Brew Pub and Restarurant at 1120 Taylor Place, Fallon, Nevada. After what Tiffany calls a quick turn-around, “with a lot of hard work, many long hours, and a lot of great help and support,” they had a soft opening on October 23rd. It’s been a time of changing and adjusting for the new owners. “The community, all in all, has been super supportive and very understanding that this is evolving; we have to evolve to understand what we need. We want to match our staffing to what the community’s expectations are,” says Tiffany. “We want people to have the best possible experience. We are very fortunate to have some really great employees who are super knowledgeable.” The Grid offers fresh meats daily from I7 Meat & Cattle Co., the Frey Ranch spirits, 12 different beers on tap (5 of which come from local breweries in the Reno area), and plan to continue to offer more products from local producers. Tiffany hopes that maybe someday there will be ‘The Grid Ice Cream’ made from Sand Hill Dairy’s milk, sock-hop car shows out in the front, a ‘yappie hour’ (bring your dogs in on a leash to the back patio) once a month, and more events to support the  community and offer different activities. There will be a grand opening on November 30th. Don’t forget to stop by on Shop Small Business Saturday and enjoy a meal, cool drink, or just visit with the new owners, great staff, and friends.       Sign up to receive updates and the Friday File email notices. They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
