Wine Tasting to support St. Patrick's
St. Patrick’s Catholic Church is hosting a Wine Tasting on Sat., Nov. 2, beginning at 6 p.m., in the parish hall. Tickets are $25 per person and include an engraved wine glass received at the door when you arrive at the event. The evening will feature an array of hors d’oeuvres and a variety of wines to sample. Non-alcoholic beverages will also be available. Participants may purchase raffle tickets to have a chance of winning donated raffle items, may bid on selected merchandise offered in a silent auction, or may buy a bottle of their favored wine. Proceeds from the Wine Tasting will benefit St. Patrick’s building fund. For more information or for tickets contact the parish office at 775-423-2846 or stop by at 375 Tedford Lane, Fallon, on Tuesday from 1-4 p.m. or Wednesday, Thursday or Friday from 9 a.m.-12 noon or 1-4 p.m. Tickets can also be obtained at the door.       Never miss a meeting or community event – keep an eye on the community calendar at https://www.thefallonpost.org/events/ If you like what we’re doing, please support our effort to provide local, independent news and contribute to The Fallon Post, your online news source for all things Fallon.

C Comment author: Carl C. HagenComment text: What are MFNs and PBMs ?? ............................ From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITORComment author: Debra J RidenourComment text: So sorry for your loss.
