Linda Binns was born in Spencer, West Virginia, on Feb. 25, 1946. She was raised in
Hagerstown, Maryland, graduating high school and attending nursing school. She was an
operating nurse for 18 years.
Linda and her first husband, Johnny Johnson, moved to the Bay Area in California in the early
1980s, where she worked in the medical insurance industry as a patient advocate for several
years.
Linda met the love of her life, Stan Binns, in 1992, and they were married in Las Vegas on
March 5, 1994.
When Stan retired from the Coast Guard, they moved to Fallon—buying a house in 1994 and
moving permanently to Fallon in 1996.
Linda worked for Hendrix Insurance, the Lahontan Valley News and the Senior Center while she
and Stan were “in retirement.” She also volunteered as a member of the Country Fair and was
instrumental in the return of the fair to the Cantaloupe Festival.
Linda and Stan spent eight winters in Nayarit, Mexico, a community they dearly loved.
Due to health problems, they stopped traveling to Mexico and settled back in Fallon at the Frey
Ranch, where they spent 12 years. In 2023, they bought a house in Yuma, Arizona.
Linda passed away Jan. 21, 2025.
She is survived by her husband, Stan; son, John Johnson, of Owensboro, Kentucky; and two
grandchildren in Texas.
Family held a small service in Yuma in January.
