City Council elects Frost Mayor Pro Tem

City Council elects Frost Mayor Pro Tem
By Leanna Lehman —  Tuesday July 9th, the Fallon City Council convened to elect a new Mayor Pro Tem. In years past, Councilman Bob Erickson served as Mayor Ken Tedford’s second in the instance of his absence or an inability to execute his duties of office. Uniquely, Mayor Tedford also served as Mayor Pro Tem for Erickson during his elected term as Fallon’s mayor. In June, Bob Erickson reached his term limit as city councilman, leaving the position of Pro Tem unfilled. Karla Kent was elected to fill the Ward 2 seat he left vacant. As a matter of course, the council sought to fill the Pro Tem position as soon as possible, to provide for continuous leadership in case of the Mayor's absence. Nominated by Councilman James Richardson, Kelly Frost was elected by unanimous vote. Frost has served on the city council since 2014 and is a long time community member and retired educator. Additionally, Karla Kent commended Chris Alexander, Fallon Police Department Captain, on the excellent work during the 4th of July Parade. Several local residents reached out to Kent to voice their appreciation of the police department for the handling of the event and in particular, the traffic flow.       Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
