Koenig in Commission Race

Koenig in Commission Race
Greg Koenig threw his hat in the ring for county commissioner on Wednesday at the Republican Central Committee meeting. An optometrist who served on the Churchill County school board for 12 years, Koenig said he is announcing early in hopes that it will give republicans an option and keep multiple candidates from "tearing each other up in the primary." Koenig announced for commission seat three which is currently held by Carl Erquiaga who has served the community for 11 years and will reach his 12-year term limit at the end of 2020. Kelli Kelly, a local democrat, announced her intention to run for commission district three in March this year, kick starting the 2020 election more than a year and a half out. The election will be held November 10, 2020. Stay tuned to The Fallon Post as we bring you an introduction to Koenig, and in-depth look at all candidates, and analysis of the local election news throughout the 2020 cycle. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
