UPDATE on Precautionary Boil Order

UPDATE on Precautionary Boil Order
UPDATE FROM CHURCHILL COUNTY -- After two rounds of clear test results, the precautionary boil water order for Oasis Mobile Home Park was lifted late Saturday afternoon, June 8. Original story appeared June 6, 2019: Leak in system expected to be repaired today -- Courtesy Churchill County -- Fallon, NV – The Bureau of Safe Drinking Water issued a precautionary boil water order this morning for residents of Oasis Mobile Home Park while contractors make repairs to a leak in the system. Letters from the county’s building department were hand-delivered to Oasis residents this morning notifying them of the order. Residents are urged to not drink the water without boiling it first. Bring the water to a boil, let it boil for one minute and cool before using it for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation. Bottled water may also be used until the boil water notice is lifted. The leak was discovered by the Churchill County Road Department on the evening of June 1 and initial inspections of the system were completed over the weekend. On Monday, the county building department initiated the “Call Before You Dig” process and following it’s 72-hour hold, repairs began this morning. Water to the mobile home park was turned off the morning of June 6 for line repairs which are expected to be completed by the end of the day. Once repairs are completed, the system will be disinfected, flushed and samples will be collected on June 6 and 7 to ensure the return of safe drinking water to residents. Residents will be informed when test results are negative and they no longer need to boil the water. Final analysis results are expected on the afternoon of Saturday, June 8. Once results are confirmed, the boil order will be lifted. Residents with any questions may call the Churchill County Building Department at 428-0264 and ask for Marie Henson.   Never miss the local news — read more on The Fallon Post home page. From the editor: This is a very good question and we apologize for not catching that wasn't in there. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITORComment author: Debra J RidenourComment text: So sorry for your loss.
