Banner Churchill Reacts to Security Concerns

Update -- As of March 7, 2023, Banner released the following statement: All visitor restrictions related to an isolated security event have been lifted. We continue to monitor the situation and will make adjustments to ensure the safety of everyone on our campus.

We have received several reports and inquiries since Friday, February 24, 2023, regarding Banner Churchill Community Hospital being on “lockdown.”

After reaching out to the hospital, we have received the following response, “Due to a security concern that was identified last week and out of an abundance of caution, certain hospital entrances have been temporarily closed. All staff entrances remain accessible, and patients and visitors may enter through the main entrance.”

Banner staff will continue assessing the situation day to day and will provide an update with any changes.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates when we have further information.

Visitors are not currently allowed in patient's rooms, or the ER waiting room. My husband was in the ER on Sunday and I was with him. Once he was admitted I had to leave.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
