Sheriff Promotes Thorn

Staff report -- Sheriff Richard Hickox promoted Corporal Chris Thorn to the rank of Sergeant, yesterday in a pinning ceremony held at the Churchill County law enforcement facility with his family and coworkers in attendance. “Sergeant Chris Thorn has served this agency, community and its visitors with bravery, honesty and integrity since 2003,” said Sheriff Hickcox. “He has proudly served in our Detention Center, Patrol Division, Investigations and Narcotic Investigations Division.” Sergeant Thorn, as a Deputy, was instrumental in the development and implementation of the narcotic detection K-9 program. “We have very high hopes and expectations for Sergeant Thorn based on his commitment, hard work and dedication,” said Hickcox.
