Applications for Northside Early Learning Center, 2019-20 school year

Applications for Northside Early Learning Center, 2019-20 school year
A Memo from Churchill County School District Special Services --  Northside Early Learning Center is currently accepting applications for Pre-Kindergarten; however, there is no guarantee of placement for those who have applied, due to uncertain funding circumstances for the 2019-2020 school year. Funding will be determined by July, at which point ChurchillCSD families will be notified if their children have met the requirements to be in the program. We encourage families to apply if their children meet the age requirements. We will notify applicants as soon as information concerning grants are available and able to be distributed. Applications will be accepted at Northside Early Learning Center (340 Venturacci Ln.) until May 31 and after May 31, at the ChurchillCSD Administrative Offices (690 S. Maine St.) Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Background on the Early Learning Center program: This free pre-kindergarten program is funded by Federal and State Grant funds for qualified children and families up to the maximum funded capacity. Families are determined eligible for pre-kindergarten funding based on their verified family size, total annual gross income, and the maximum allowable income for eligibility (200% of the federal poverty level). The maximum allowable income is determined by the Poverty Guideline, issued each January in the Federal Register by the Department of Health and Human Services, and is available online at www.hhs.gov (once at the website, click on "Poverty Guidelines" in the bottom right section labeled "I would like info on..."). We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
