Rotary Scholarship Winner Elizabeth Stephens

Rotary Scholarship Winner Elizabeth Stephens
by Leanna Lehman -- Each year the Fallon Rotary Club awards scholarships to deserving local students. One of this year’s scholarships is going to CCHS senior, Elizabeth Stephens. Not only will she be receiving the $1000 local rotary scholarship, but she has also been nominated as a scholarship candidate for a district award as well. Stephens recently moved to Fallon with her family from Upton, Wyoming. Even though she comes from a small town with a population of about 900, her dreams are anything but small. With her sights set on an undergraduate degree in neuroscience at UNR, she also plans to take her education to the next level and eventually earn a medical degree and become a doctor. According to Stephens, she has had many opportunities to travel and involve herself in a host of community and school-based programs that have helped put her on this path. While in Wyoming, she was a two-time state officer for Family, Career, and Community Leaders of American. During that time, she earned awards on the national level including two gold, two silver, and one bronze medal in various competitions. Music is also a passion for Stephens as she can play several instruments with piano being her favorite. She also sings and has served as the co-chair of Teens in the Driver Seat. Well accomplished, charming, and driven, this scholarship winner is well on her way to big things and will be a wonderful addition to UNR’s student body and part of the outstanding Wolf Pack legacy.    Keep up with all that’s happening – check the Community Calendar at https://www.thefallonpost.org/events/ Support local, independent news – contribute to The Fallon Post, your non-profit (501c3) online news source for all things Fallon

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I loved hanging out at your home on Sheckler Road where she was always warm and welcoming.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 7:12 PMComment source: June Irene Manhire (Pendarvis), née DriggsComment author: EvaComment text: Grandpa, I find myself wondering about you every so often. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
