Churchill County Search and Rescue Thanks Community

Author: File Photo

The members of Churchill County Search and Rescue (CCSAR) wish to acknowledge and thank each and every citizen and business of Churchill County, Nevada for their generous support during the 2021 donation appeal. Your generosity helps us to help make our community a safer and more enjoyable place to live and work. Your contribution helps us in acquiring more modern equipment and maintaining what we already have. Last year saw us obtain eight automated external defibrillators and we significantly improved our communications through the purchase of a mobile relay station. In addition, we did some significant repairs and maintenance of several key vehicles. Finally, we have upgraded our ongoing training to improve our skills to help keep us all safer.

We also wish to say that we consider each citizen and business to be virtual members of Churchill County Search and Rescue and are firmly on the belief that “We are all in this together.” Again, thank you for your participation in our annual appeal. We remind you that we are fully funded only through your contribution in any amount to our annual funds drive.

Michael Gardner

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
