ChurchillCSD Addresses Damage after TikTok Challenge Hits Home

More challenges coming up for October
  • Source: ChurchillCSD

TikTok challenges/dares have hit CCMS and CCHS campuses. A September challenge, called “devious licks,” encouraged students to steal from school campuses or vandalize facilities, particularly restrooms. Both CCMS and CCHS experienced isolated incidents of vandalism in restrooms.
The October TikTok challenge urges students to film and post videos of a student slapping a teacher or staff member. ANY INTENTIONAL USE OF FORCE AGAINST ANOTHER PERSON IS A CRIMINAL OFFENSE. CHURCHILLCSD WILL COOPERATE FULLY WITH LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO BRING CHARGES AGAINST ANY STUDENT WHO ENGAGES IN ASSAULT OR BATTERY OF AN EMPLOYEE.

Along with legal ramifications, ChurchillCSD will also apply disciplinary measures consistent with Policy and Regulation 5135.2, Student Discipline.
Unfortunately, the challenges/dares will not end here. We know, and have seen, a list of TikTok challenges to expect on school campuses each month. We want students and parents to know the behavior set forth in these challenges is unacceptable, not the Greenwave way, and will not be tolerated. Students attempting or participating in any TikTok challenges at school that violate the district's student behavior policy will face disciplinary actions, including the possibility of out-of-school suspension, expulsion and depending on the severity, police involvement. ChurchillCSD has already been in contact with the Fallon Police Department. We will immediately contact FallonPD if a student strikes a school employee or participates in any social media challenge or other behavior that involves criminal behavior. The fact that it is a TikTok challenge will not be a defense. ChurchillCSD will report all crimes.

We strongly encourage parents to discuss with their children the importance of not participating in dangerous, destructive, or illegal social media challenges, and specifically the importance of treating educators, staff members, and fellow students with respect.

As much as social media can be a force for good, it has definitely been used by some to encourage inappropriate and sometimes illegal behavior. We will work side by side with parents to educate and prevent our students from participating in destructive, inappropriate, dangerous, or illegal behaviors encouraged by these TikTok challenges.

If you have any questions please contact your child’s principal:

Life was so much simpler and better before social media.

A cost analysis should be created so we can see what is reasonable cost for that pasture. 3.the tenants of that pasture Have not changed for years .I think they need to open it up for all eligible applicants in Churchill County!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 9:25 AMComment source: Ranchers Push Back as NDOW Nearly Doubles Carson Pasture Grazing FeesComment author: David KittleComment text: I praise the Lord that you are now in your heavenly home and no longer in pain. We are deeply saddened by the loss of Sophie. We still remember her from your visit to Edmonton when Sophie was just a little girl. I can still see her standing on the sidewalk beside your car and waving madly with a big smile as if she’d always known us and we were now best friends. We are so thankful to know a deep faith runs through your family and you know that Sophie is freed from her pain and is at home with her Lord and Saviour. May God grant all of you the peace and comfort that only God can give during this time of grief.Comment publication date: 4/20/26, 4:05 PMComment source: Sophia Katherine BehimerComment author: ThughesComment text: Thanks to all who came and stood up !
