The Churchill County Library belongs to an organization called the Nevada Library Cooperative. CoOp for short. Benefits to the Churchill County community allows borrowing from other member libraries. For example, if Churchill County Library doesn’t have a title and Lyon County does, they will ship it to this library so you can check it out. Another recent benefit is the shared Overdrive catalog which allows you to download ebooks, eaudios, and emagazines that may have been purchased from member libraries.
The CoOp is in the strategic planning process. The goal is to determine how the CoOp can best serve the Churchill County community. Representatives from the Nevada State Library, Library Consultant Ruth Metz, and the CoOp Executive Director will be at the Churchill County Library on Tuesday April 9, from 6:00-7:30pm to discuss the CoOp’s future and its partnership with the Nevada State Library. Please join us. For additional information: Carol Lloyd-775-423-7581X6
Carol Lloyd is the Director of the Churchill County Library. The Library is a founding member of the CoOp which was founded in 1981.
