Garcia was given probation and must complete the Western Nevada Regional Drug Court program.

John Jefferson King II pled guilty to a single count of Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a Gross Misdemeanor punishable by up to 364 days in jail. Defense counsel Charles Woodman Esq. stated that on November 26 of last year, his client conspired with Michelle Paul to possess a .38 handgun. Chief Deputy District Attorney (DA) Lane Mills claimed that King and Paul attempted to sell a stolen firearm to an unsuspecting victim and should be held accountable. Judge Stockard sentenced King to a suspended sentence of 364 days in jail and 12 months of probation.

Scott Michael Loewe pled guilty to a single charge of Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, a Category B Felony with a potential penalty of 1-6 years in prison. CCPD Wright Noel stated that his client did possess a firearm regardless of his status as a felon. Sentencing is set for May 25.

Rikki Jo Nuesmeyer appeared via Zoom for probation violations. CCPD Wright Noel stated that his client didn't appear in person and was practicing an abundance of caution due to illness and pending the results of a COVID test. Assistant District Attorney Chelsea Sanford stated that the defendant was not complying with Court Services by failing to check-in and appear for drug testing. Judge Stockard set the case out for one week, pending the result of her COVID test, demanding that she be present for her continuance, maintains contact with court services, and returns to Court with her testing results.

Michelle Leann Paul (in custody) appeared for sentencing after she pled guilty to Buying, Possessing, or Withholding a Stolen Firearm, a Category C Felony. CCPD Jacob Sommer asked for the minimum sentence. Judge Stockard sentenced Paul to 12-36 months and ordered the sentence to run concurrently with her current prison sentence.

Richard Cory Plummer (in custody) pled guilty to one count of Possession of a Controlled Substance, a first or second offense, a Category E Felony with potential penalties of 1-4 years in prison. On February 10, Renfroe was arraigned in Justice Court on charges of Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, both Class E Felonies that can carry 1-4 years in prison. According to ADA Chelsea Sanford, Renfroe is not staying at the address provided and has also been seen locally under the influence. Judge Stockard issued a $25,000 cash-only bench warrant.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
