3A Regional Basketball Results
The Greenwave girls are the 3A Regional Champions, winning the regional tournament last weekend, playing in the championship game against Lowry.  CCHS girls scored 67 - 48 against the Winnemucca team, earning their third regional title in a row. The girls head to Las Vegas for the state tournament this weekend where they will play at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, March 1st at the Orleans Arena. The Boys Greenwave team fell to the Elko Indians on Saturday night, losing 65 - 57 after a nail biter against Lowry that they won in overtime.  They play in the state tournament at the Orleans Arean on Friday at 12:45 p.m.

The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
