Fallon Police Investigating Report of Child Abduction — Updated
Update *** The Fallon Police Department has completed this investigation and has determined this was a false report.  No names will be released to protect those involved. The department reminds the community not to hesitate to call the police department when your children report something of this nature.  “We take the safety of our citizens seriously and will fully investigate any reports of this nature,” according to PD social media post. They also encourage people to take the time to talk to children about their safety while walking to and from school and have a plan in place in case something does happen. The Fallon Police Department is currently investigating a report of an attempted child abduction near the Northside Early Learning Center.  At this time they are evaluating the gathered information and ask if anyone has credible information regarding this incident to please contact the police department at 423-2111 rather than social media.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
