Sisolak Says School Remain in Distance Learning the Rest of the School Year

Update from ChurchillCSD --

We have just learned from Governor Sisolak's press conference tonight that all Nevada schools will remain in a distance learning model for the remainder of the school year. I have attached the memo for your review. What does that mean for our students and staff in ChurchillCSD?

Check out  bit.ly/ccsdlearningfromadistance for more information from ChurchillCSD.

We will continue our Learning from a Distance model. The good news is that we are getting better at providing good opportunities for kids in this way. We just learned about this tonight at the Governor’s press conference, so we will meet virtually with all of the building leaders and various staff once we have some additional direction from the Nevada Department of Education.

We will continue to provide meals as that is a very high priority for us.

We will ensure that we get families additional information in the next few days as we finalize details on information that you need.  We have many pieces in place for kids to keep accessing work over the next few weeks and more support will be on the way.

This is a time that is very difficult for our kids--please know that we have staff who can help and be there to talk or support them--please reach out to your children’s teachers or principals. In the meantime, please hug your kids, know that we appreciate all that you are doing, and know that we will keep working hard for your kids!

We have a family and community memo that will be coming out later this week with more information regarding grading and attendance for the remainder of the semester along with other updates on all things ChurchillCSD. Thank you for your support during this time!

If you have any specific questions, please feel free to send me an email at [email protected]

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
