School District Serves 1,198 Meals Today
by Rachel Dahl --  Dr. Summer Stephens, Churchill County School District superintendent said this afternoon that the district was able to serve 1,198 meals this first day of providing meals to district students. Stephens reminds the community that meals are available at three locations in the city; Numa Elementary, Northside Early Learning Center, and the Churchill County High School. Meals are available to children ages 0 - 18 who are present at pickup, from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday through Friday until April 3rd. There are also ten rural locations where children can pick up meals:
  • Remote Drop-offs for Rural Households--Drop will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the following stops:

    • Sand Cholla bus stop, base housing (no longer at Wildes/Pasture Road drop-off)
    • 1775 Auction Road (no longer at Ready Mix, 1550 Auction Rd)
    • Ok Trailer Park, 4333 Reno Hwy
    • Lynnie Ln at Soda Lake Rd
    • Leetville Junction, (Carson Hwy at Reno Hwy)
    • Fallon RV Park, 5787 Reno Hwy
    • Harmon Junction (Harmon and Stillwater Rd)
    • Solias Rd and Lone Tree Rd
    • Churchill Village, 650 N Maine St
    • Doi Dicutta at Reservation Rd
    • Wade Ln at Old River Rd
The district has also launched their Learning From a Distance website which is available here: https://sites.google.com/churchillcsd.com/learningfromadistance/home and they are asking families to respond to a survey concerning internet access which is located at that website. Additionally, CC Communications is offering to provide internet access to local students who do not currently have access.
