Partnership to Provide School Resource Officers
The City of Fallon and the Fallon Police Department Partner with the Churchill County School District to Establish the School Resource Officer Program Information provided by the City of Fallon -- The City of Fallon and the Fallon Police Department are pleased to announce a partnership with the Churchill County School District to provide a School Resource Officer Program within the District. The Churchill County School District was awarded a Safe Schools Grant which helped make this program possible. Mayor Ken Tedford said, “The City of Fallon expects the School Resource Officer Program to demonstrate a number of positive effects not only for the students, but also for school faculty and our community. The Officers’ responsibilities will far exceed providing a police presence on school grounds as they will undertake positive engagement with students, function as mentors and role models, promote substance abuse awareness and healthy lifestyle programs, as well as a myriad of other duties.” Superintendent Summer Stephens said, "Keeping our students and staff safe is a top priority of our district. The partnership with the City, and the implementation of the School Resource Officer Program, fully supports this priority and also furthers the district's goals of ensuring all learners are life-ready and engaged citizens." The Fallon Police Department has already placed Officer Zachary Jacobs in the Churchill County Middle School and will be placing Officer Sam Ugalde in the Churchill County High School. Officers Jacobs and Ugalde have both attended the National Association of School Resource Officers basic class and will attend an advanced course. Police Chief Kevin Gehman said, “We are excited about the opportunity to continue our high level of community engagement with the implementation of the School Resource Officer Program.”       Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page. We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
