Fallon will once again welcome hundreds of young athletes and their families as the city hosts the 2026 Cal Ripken 11-Year-Old Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament from July 12-18 at Oats Park.
Now in its fifth consecutive year as host of a Cal Ripken regional tournament, Fallon will welcome 10 teams from across the Pacific Southwest region, with approximately 500 players competing for the opportunity to advance to the Cal Ripken World Series. Tournament organizers expect a significant number of visiting family members and supporters to accompany the teams, bringing a welcome boost to local hotels, restaurants, and businesses.
Tournament festivities begin Sunday with team check-in, a community dinner at Rafter 3C Arena, pin trading, opening ceremonies, and player skills competitions, including a home run derby, before games begin Monday. Admission to all games at Oats Park is free, and the public is encouraged to attend throughout the week.
According to Pacific Southwest Vice President Phil Winder, hosting the regional tournament is made possible through the continued support of the City of Fallon, whose assistance allows local organizers to continue submitting competitive bids to host the event. Winder also praised the many volunteers who help make the tournament possible each year, from concession workers to scorekeepers and official scorebook volunteers.
"We would love the community to come out and support the players during the tournament," Winder said. "We also appreciate everyone's patience as Fallon welcomes the many families and visitors coming to town to cheer on their teams."
The excitement won't end with Cal Ripken. Fallon will also host the Babe Ruth Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament from July 19-24 at Churchill County High School, marking the return of another major regional baseball tournament to the community.
