Lunchtime book club meets on October 3 at 12:15 p.m. This month’s book is “One Puzzling Afternoon” by Emily Critchley.

The adult spelling bee takes place October 10 at 4 p.m. Were you a great speller back in the day? Want to reclaim some of that glory? Compete in the adult spelling bee!

Join us for a life skills class taught by Steve Endacott, the City of Fallon’s emergency manager on October 11 at 2 p.m. Geared to teens and young adults, but all are welcome. Endacott will discuss household emergency preparedness.

Create something “spooktacular” at the library using old toys and stuffed animals on October 25 at 2 p.m. All ages are welcome, but children will need supervision.

Join the library for Author Talk on October 28 at 6 p.m. just in time for Halloween and listen to Zachary O’Shea talk horror with us.

For Children

“1,000 Books Before Kindergarten” encourages youngsters to read books before entering school. Recognition given for every 100 books read on the way to 1,000! Sign-ups accepted at any time at: bit.ly/CCL1000BBK.

Reading with Rover takes place on October 9 at 3:30 p.m. Come practice your reading skills on the best listeners and keep the book you choose to read! Geared to ages 6-11, but all are welcome.

STEAM sessions every Friday at 1:30 p.m. Choose from science, technology, engineering, art, and math activities that vary from week to week. Geared to kids ages six through 11, but all are welcome.

Come out for children’s story time on Wednesdays at 11 a.m. and again on Thursdays at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. Each week’s story time will feature the same children’s content with picture books and a craft to accompany most stories. Geared to children ages 3-5, but all kids are welcome to participate.

Like to talk about books, movies, or games? Join the Elementary Book Club which meets virtually on October 24 at 3 p.m. for those in grades 3 through 5. Reserve your spot at: bit.ly/CCLElementaryBookClub.

For Adults

Spice Club continues in October and features star anise.

For All Ages

Game night every Wednesday at 4 p.m. Stop by with the whole family, or on your own, to enjoy games supplied by the library…or bring your own to enjoy playing together.

Virtual Reality sessions on Tuesdays at 3:30 p.m. Patrons 10 and older may participate. Minors must have a signed permission form.

All these services are available with a free library card for Nevada ID (Fallon address) or military ID. And as always, the library does not charge overdue fines.

Comment author: BonnieComment text: Good Luck to all of you. I mean this sincerely. My family fought the Navy for years. My parents owned Horse Creek (Pat and Linda Dempsey). They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
