Pets of the Week

CAPS
Big Guy, a two-year-old Labrador Retriever and Border Collie mix, was rescued from a hoarding situation and needs a patient owner to help him gain confidence. He’s shy at first but warms up into a loving companion. He enjoys playing with ball-on-a-rope toys, staying active, and snuggling on the couch. Curious about other animals but not aggressive, he’s learning basic commands and eager to please.

Also, our Facebook page has changed from "Churchill Animal Protection Society (CAPS)" to "CAPS – Fallon." We remain open by appointment only due to ongoing construction.

FAWG
This unspayed female grey tabby was brought to FAWG as a stray. We don’t know where she was found, but if you recognize her, please reach out!

Looking to adopt? Call 775-217-4745 to schedule an appointment.

Also, Wild Coast Raw has expanded its recall of frozen Feline Boneless Free Range Chicken Formula due to possible H5N1 (bird flu) contamination. Bird flu in cats has a 67% fatality rate—please spread the word!

City of Fallon Animal Shelter
February was short but busy! The shelter saw some very happy adoption day moments celebrating 51 adoptions—38 dogs and 13 cats—finding loving homes.

Stray intakes included 36 dogs and 11 cats, with 27 dogs and one cat reunited with owners. Additionally, 42 dogs and 17 cats were surrendered to the shelter.

Pictured: D-197, a stray found near Testolin Road. If you recognize this dog, please call us.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
