Local Democrats met June 13th

Local Democrats met June 13th
Staff report -- CCDCC meeting, June 13, 2019 On June 13, the Churchill County Democrats met for their regular monthly meeting. Special guests were Michael Cullen, Nevada Political Director for the Julián Castro presidential campaign, and Megan Joy Macias, Intern. Michael and Megan described their plans to help Nevadans become more aware of Secretary Castro’s platform and what he can do for Nevada. They have just started on their programs, but their enthusiasm was contagious. The members then discussed the upcoming Nevada Democratic Presidential Caucus, which will be held on Feb. 22, 2020. Prior to the actual caucus, Democrats will have the opportunity to vote early for their preferred candidate. Early voting will be held from Feb. 15-18. To prepare for early voting and the caucus, the Churchill County Democrats have formed a “2020 Caucus to Convention” committee. The committee will be working with the Nevada State Democratic Party and will have more details as the caucus gets closer. The next regular monthly meeting will be on July 11. Instead of the August meeting, the Democrats will hold their annual barbecue on August 10. Anyone interested in attending the July meeting, the barbecue, or helping with other Democratic activities can contact Chair Nyla Howell at (775) 427-4575 (cell phone) for more information.     Never miss the local news -- read more on The Fallon Post home page. Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
