Movies & More: "Wonka" and "McClintock" This Weekend and Upcoming Events

Welcome to April. We have two great free movies this weekend. On April 5 and 6, we will show “Wonka” at 6 p.m. Wonka is a 2023 musical fantasy film that tells the origin story of Willy Wonka, a character in Roald Dahl's 1964 novel Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It tells the amazing story of how the world's greatest inventor, magician, and chocolate maker became the beloved Willy Wonka we know today.

Friday at 7 p.m. we will show the 1963 American Western comedy film “McLintock,” starring John Wayne and Maureen O'Hara. George Washington McLintock is highly respected by everyone around him, and he tries to keep the peace and do what is best for everyone.

On Saturday, April 6, at 7 p.m., we have family-friendly standup comedy with comedian Lee Hardin. Don't miss this night of clean fun and laughter. Tickets are only $20 for adults. However, you might be interested in Lee’s Double Date Discount, which is offered on his website. Learn more at Fallon Theatre’s website, www.fallontheatre.com.

On Saturday, April 13, from noon to 3 p.m., the Fallon Theatre will host the free Heritage of the West. The show will feature Native American Dancers, Cowboy Poetry, Chautauqua, Western Songs, Mexicana Dance Group, Old Classic Country Songs, and much more.

On Saturday, April 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the Fallon Theatre will host Hillsdale College's Constitution 101 video lecture series. Sponsored by the Churchill County Republican Women, admission is $15 for adults and free for students. Getto Subs will provide lunch.

Saturday, April 27, at 7 p.m., we will show “Tahoe Joe 2,” featuring some local cast and crew. In this sequel to the 2022 film “Tahoe Joe,” a popular social media influencer goes missing in the Tahoe National Forest. Filmmakers Michael Rock and Dillon Brown set out on a rescue mission but get more than they bargained for when returning to the famous hunting grounds of Tahoe Joe. Tickets are $10 for adults, $7 for active military, and children 12 and under.

Hope to see you at our historic downtown theatre!

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
