Organizers invite the public to the 85th Annual Churchill County Junior Livestock Show and Sale on April 25 through 27 at the Rafter 3C Arena on Sheckler Road.

The show consists of livestock market animals, including swine, sheep, beef, goat, poultry, rabbit, and all the breeding stock classes for those animals.
The CCJLS allows Churchill County youth to exhibit skills they have learned in raising their animals, such as project management, decision-making, fiscal responsibility, time management, record keeping, and project evaluation. The show and sale allow the community to encourage and reward the youth engaged in these positive self-development and education endeavors.

After viewing the animals on April 25 and 26, the public is invited to attend the livestock sale on April 27. This is an opportunity to buy or partner with someone to buy a locally fed and raised livestock animal for your freezer. Unable to attend the sale? Designate someone as your agent to purchase on your behalf. Show officials are happy to help would-be buyers with the buying process.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
