Movies & More

A big thank you to all our sustaining members, sponsors, and volunteers; we couldn't do it without you! Also, thank you to all of you who joined us for all our great events last weekend, we appreciate your support.

This week, we have cartoons plus the second half of a classic movie. Playing Friday, February 23, and Saturday, February 24, at 6 p.m. are classic "Popeye” cartoons for the young and the young at heart.

Our second feature each evening, starting at 7 p.m., is part two of the classic 1939 epic historical romance film “Gone With The Wind.” This epic Civil War drama focuses on the life of petulant Southern belle Scarlett O'Hara. Starting with her idyllic life on a sprawling plantation, the film traces her survival through the tragic history of the South during the Civil War and Reconstruction and her tangled love affairs with Ashley Wilkes and Rhett Butler. Starring Vivien Leigh, Clark Gable, Olivia de Havilland, Hattie McDaniel, and Leslie Howard.

Remember - movies are free!

Please mark your calendars for Friday, March 1, as live music takes our stage as Reno-based band “Night Moves” and Fallon Favorite “The Will Shamberger Band” again join us for a night of great music. The concert starts at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 and can be purchased at the door the night of the concert

See you at the movies!

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses. Her dad Ted was my dad's brother. I never knew Ted or Betty, but I wish I did. I am 73 and live in IL. I am building my family tree and see where Betty has fit in. Blessings to you Curt and family.
