The Tenth Judicial District Court convened Tuesday, August 15, with Judge Thomas Stockard presiding.

Aaron Michael Randall appeared for sentencing a Category B Felony of Attempt to Commit Unlawful Use of a Minor less than 14 years of age in Producing Pornography or as a Subject of Sexual Portrayal in Pornography, to which Randall pled guilty in May.  A Pre-Sentencing Investigative Report found that Randall does not present a high risk to re-offend.

According to Churchill County Public Defender Jacob Sommer, his client was struggling with alcohol addiction and sent inappropriate drunken text messages to the victim. Sommer said Randall has made meaningful changes in his life; he is completely sober, a single father, and works full-time to support himself and his son. Sommer asked the court “to grant Mr. Randall probation so that he can continue to support his son, to work hard at the local dairy, and so that he can continue to demonstrate his sobriety and intent for never engaging in this kind of behavior from henceforth.”

The victim gave an Impact Statement, explaining that the defendant knew she was only 13 years old when he gave her his phone number, telling the court, “Aaron made me feel comfortable. He made me feel important; and like he cares about me.

He made me feel like showing my body to a grown man was okay because he cared about me.” The victim called Randall “a coward and a liar” for using alcohol as an excuse, stating, “He was sober and knew what he was doing” when they would talk. The victim stated, “Giving Aaron probation will be like a slap in the face.”  And said that he deserves to do time for his actions and the pain he has inflicted on many people. She asked that Randall receive a sentence of 12-36 months and have to register as a sex offender.

Judge Stockard sentenced Randall to 24-60 months in prison. Randall will be subject to lifetime supervision and must register as a sex offender.

We reached out to the writer/submitter and got this info back...hope it's helpful. PBM: Pharmacy Benefit Managers are pharmacies that are owned by insurance companies. (CVS is one.) They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO). When applied to pharmaceuticals, it could disrupt global access, deter innovation, and obscure the deeper systemic issues in American health care. https://petrieflom.law.harvard.edu/2025/05/22/the-global-risks-of-americas-most-favored-nation-drug-pricing-policy/Comment publication date: 6/23/25, 7:47 AMComment source: L E T T E R TO THE EDITOR
