Big Brand Tire and Service New to Fallon

The former Christensen Automotive location at 1181 S. Taylor Street is now Big Brand Tire and Service.
    Big Brand Tire and Service was founded in 1969 as a privately held tire and automotive service firm based in Moorpark, California. The company provides tires and wheels for various types of vehicles and offers wheel alignment, oil changes, brake inspection, suspension tuning, custom lifting or lowering of vehicles, and other related services. Percheron Capital of San Francisco acquired the company in 2021. In 2022, Big Brand acquired American Tire Depot, Tire World, Purcell Tire & Service Retail Centers, Integrity Tire, C&R Tire, S&S Tire & Auto Service, 55 Inc., Brian’s Tire and Auto, and Community Tire Pros. 
    With these acquisitions, Big Brand is now the eighth-largest tire and service retailer in the US, with more than 160 locations primarily in the southwest under its belt. In 2023, Big Brand is looking to grow even further. “Big Brand plans to continue to both infill and expand to new markets adjacent to its current footprint,” says Joe Buscaglia, CEO of Big Brand. “[We] expect continued rapid expansion in 2023 through the acquisition of other high-quality tire and service businesses.” 
    Locally, Big Brand bought out Christensen Automotive in October of 2022. The same employees are still there, including manager Mike Barbato. Barbato said “We are still doing the same work we always have. Factory maintenance, leak checks, oil changes, brake work, and more. Basically, with Big Brand, we added tires to what we were already doing. We’re not just a tire store, we are much more.”
    In March the company offered a free oil change as a promotion to introduce the company to Fallon. The promotion was done exclusively on Facebook and according to Barbato it was “very successful.” I took advantage of the special myself and found that not only was the offer for real, but it was also very well done. I was in and out in about an hour, most of which was due to their being quite busy on that day. I not only received the oil change but also tire rotation and fills of all low fluids. Because I drive a large pickup truck that requires a bit more oil than most vehicles, there was a small charge. The ad said “Free oil change up to $99” so I paid the difference and felt I received a very good deal.
