Allison’s Book Report - Something Wilder

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren
Allison’s Book Report - Something Wilder

Something Wilder by Christina Lauren is a fun and romantic romp through the wilderness for Lily and Leo, whose young love ended as quickly as it began. Ten years later, their lives could not be more different when they are reunited in the red sandstone deserts of Utah’s Canyonlands National Park. Things turn out to not be quite as they seem, leading Lily, Leo, and readers on a wild treasure hunt adventure that is so much fun I couldn’t put it down.

Read this book if you like an easy romance with a fun outdoor adventure twist, love our National Parks, love treasure hunts and puzzles, or are looking for a wild story complete with villains, and enjoy the idea of a second chance at love. There is a little bit of spice and of course, HEA, a happily ever after.

The red rocks in the picture aren’t from the Canyonlands National Park where Something Wilder is set. I took it last week in Nevada’s very own Valley of Fire State Park, near Las Vegas. Hopefully, the adventurous spirit of the book will inspire you to get outside and have an adventure, too.

Comment author: Claude EzzellComment text: Paul was one of the most manifest men I have ever met. He was a good friends with my Dad and always had an entertaining story for the occasion. One of my most favorite stories Paul told dated back to the late 60s or early 70s and it revolved around him killing a deer way out in the mountains. Naturally the deer ran down into a deep canyon and died. Knowing that it would take him forever to haul it out he devised an awesome plan. After preparing the deer he drove back to NAS Fallon and rustled up a SAR crew and they flew out and picked up the deer. Of course it was labeled as a training flight but what the hell in those days you could do that sort of thing. Rest in Peace my friend until we meet again!!Comment publication date: 4/11/24, 1:15 PMComment source: Obituary - LCDR Paul N PflimlinComment author: THughesComment text: So sad to hear.
