Churchill County School Board Candidates Financial Disclosures

Churchill County School Board Candidates Financial Disclosures

While Candidate Financial Disclosures were due March 28, 2022, Nevada state law requires the reporting of campaign donations (contributions) and expenditures quarterly with totals reported annually.

In compliance with Nevada Revised Statute, 294A.130, all candidates for public office must open a bank account in a financial institution in the United States for the deposit of any contributions received. This account must be separate from any personal or business accounts belonging to or associated with the candidate. The campaign account must be established no later than one week after receiving a contribution of $100 or more.

As of the end of the second period on June 30, the seven candidates who have filed for Churchill Hill County School Board Trustee had turned in their reports for both previous periods. All candidates and incumbents must report contributions whether cash or in-kind and expenses whether those were the candidate’s own money or otherwise. The reports contain information on both cash contributions and in-kind contributions. In-kind contributions are made on behalf of the candidate and paid by a contributor, for example, a business allows the use of their office space for the campaign.

A search on Aurora, the Secretary of State’s campaign finance page, shows Candidate Joe McFadden has raised the most in contributions at $1,969 in both in-kind and cash contributions and has spent $486 in expenses leaving a current cash balance of $438.

Candidate Bill Post has raised $1,741 in contributions and in-kind contributions and has spent $753 in expenses leaving a cash balance of $782.

Incumbent Matt Hyde reports no contributions or expenses.

Incumbent Amber Casey Getto likewise reports no contributions but has spent $585 in expenses.

Julie Guerrero-Goetsch has not received any contributions but has spent $537.

Ivy Ward reports an in-kind contribution of $558 and has no expenses reported.

Walter Henderson has no contributions and has $35 in expenses reported.

There will be one update to the C&E reports on October 15, before the election. Candidate reporting information can be found by going to the www.nvsos.gov/soscandidateservices webpage and clicking on “Report Search.”
