An Opportunity to Provide Input to the School District about Communication

Churchill County School District has launched its first ThoughtExchange, a unique anonymous survey service, for the 22-23 school year. They are looking for input from all stakeholders including students, parents, staff members, community members, external partners, and family members regarding District communication.

“We need your input to understand what our stakeholders’ needs are regarding how we communicate in order to learn what’s most important to everyone.  We ask that you think about what communication you are receiving that works well and what you would like to see us do better. We ask that you take into consideration the district's weekly newsletters, Facebook posts, phone calls, texts, and other communication methods as you generate your thoughts,” stated ChruchillCSD Public Information Officer Kaitlin Ritchie.

ChurchillCSD will be using stakeholders’ thoughts to reevaluate and restructure their communication process as a District to ensure they communicate effectively and efficiently. “We are using ThoughtExchange to collect ideas so everyone has a chance to share their perspectives and have a better understanding of what’s most important to various stakeholders," Ritchie said.

ThoughtExchange is the world’s number one discussion management platform education leaders use to solve complex problems and consult their stakeholders. Unlike traditional surveys, respondents feel more comfortable answering questions candidly because of the anonymity. It also allows participants to drive the discussion, unlike traditional surveys where the answers are already prepopulated.

“My favorite part about ThoughtExchange is that it allows raw and honest thoughts to be shared and rated making it easy for us to see what is most important to our stakeholders. With typical surveys, we asked the questions and provided the answer choices revolving around what was important to us. This is a game changer because it reveals what is important to our stakeholders.  From previous ThoughtExchanges, we have been surprised at what the highest-rated thoughts are. We are truly getting some authentic data using this service,” Superintendent Dr. Summer Stephens said.

This Communications-focused ThoughtExchange will close at 10 p.m. on Friday, September 16th. The district asks stakeholders to share their thoughts and rate at least 20-30 of the thoughts that others have shared. Your participation is confidential, so no one will know who shared or rated which thoughts.  People can go back as often until 10 p.m. on Friday, September 16th to rate new ideas or share more thoughts.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
