CCSD Back to School Information

Transportation K-12 Transportation Application –

There is a waiting list in effect due to the significantly large numbers of applicants this year, ALL bus riders MUST plan alternate modes of transportation until they have been contacted directly by a bus driver the week of August 8-10th. If you have not heard from a driver by the end of the day on August 10th, please assume you do not currently have district-provided busing. This is due to a severe driver shortage across the country and an overwhelming request of over 700 more students than last year. Any ChurchillCSD family intending to use District Transportation MUST fill out this application and will be placed on the "WAIT LIST" - please drive your children to school until transportation has contacted you once space is available.

The district is working to be able to follow fully Regulation 5144. This decision has required that absolutely NO High School riders who reside in city limits will be allowed to ride district-provided buses to/from school unless assigned as part of an IEP.

We ask all families to work together and help each other transport as many students to/from school as possible to reduce the number of riders we are currently experiencing. We also encourage any person in the community who would like to consider becoming a bus driver to check out the district’s employment site to learn how to become part of the driving team. We need you! View the JOB DESCRIPTION HERE: bit.ly/ChurchillBusDriver Apply TODAY: bit.ly/ChurchillCSDApply

The District will follow current Regulation 5144 for all transportation decisions, which includes busing for all COUNTY K-12 students. Students in grades K-8 who live within City limits will be able to use bus stops at pre-selected sites but must have filled out an application and been contacted by the department. The locations of bus stops have not yet been determined. If you have any questions regarding Transportation, please contact our transportation department at 775-423-7135. Back to School Fall.

High School 11th ad 12th graders–Level Up Program

The Level Up Program is currently accepting applications. The High Sierra Area Health Education Center (AHEC) is looking for applicants for its Level Up program. They currently have 34 slots available for students 16 and older and/or junior and senior standing. High Sierra AHEC is a 501c3 public health nonprofit dedicated to recruiting, developing, and strengthening the future health workforce for rural, underserved, and title I populations. Their goal when working with students is to expose them to health and health care careers and the opportunities available to them to achieve their higher education goals. They start as early as elementary school with hands-on experiences and opportunities to meet local professionals. At the middle and high school levels, they begin introducing students to more current and emergent health topics and career exploration. Once students reach the undergraduate and graduate levels, they continue to support students through training, professional development, and other opportunities that align with their interests and goals. At these levels, students are able to serve their communities and mentor youth in their pathway programs. This is an excellent opportunity for students! Here is the link to the webpage with more information and here is the line to the application. If you have any questions, contact Marisa Pimental, High Sierra AHEC, at 775-507-4022 or email her at [email protected].

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
