Journalist Natalie Savage had finally made the big time as a White House correspondent for a major television network; a goal she has aspired to since girlhood. The problem is that it’s temporary, as she is forced to compete for the spot permanently with a pretty boy/no substance/inexperienced upstart whose major asset is that he looks great on camera.
The battle ensues as Savage negotiates Washington D.C. politics, gaslight harassment, office politics, and getting along with her producer. We meet her family, attend her mother’s wedding, are introduced to the new man in her life and watch as she tries to balance the whole kit ‘n’ caboodle.
This novel is satire at its best. The witty conversation is a plus. Yellin is a former CNN Chief White House Correspondent so I’m guessing she speaks from experience on more than a few levels.
Carol Lloyd is the Director of the Churchill County Library and is a bit of a political and news junkie-assuming it’s possible to be a “bit of a junkie.”

Comment text: A little disappointed in the parade and fireworks. With it being America's 250th Birthday, there should have been some more history, as in pioneers walking behind wagons.....etc. And as for fireworks, should have been more spectacular, like seeing hearts, and smiling faces and an American flag all dine in fire works.
