Only this Friday, January 28 -- not intended to last longer

CCHS Goes Remote Due to COVID

Due to significant numbers of students and staff out due to COVID-19, the high school will operate in a fully remote learning day tomorrow, Friday, January 28th. This arrangement is not intended to go beyond tomorrow, but rather allow for staff and students to heal and to ensure that we lower the spread of the current COVID-19 outbreak at CCHS. As such, students will be asked to log in to their 5th, 6th, and 7th-period classes ON TIME through Google Meets sent out by teachers through their Google Classrooms, Canvas account, or through school email. Students in Dual Enrollment courses held online or at WNC should plan to complete those as normal. All activities and sports practices and games will still be allowed to be held as scheduled using the health protocols that exist in the district. It is extremely important that students take advantage of this opportunity as not doing so could result in the HS being required to attend a contingency day on June 6, 2022.

Students, please login at the start of each class period to that live class and learn more about what your teacher would like you to work on for the day. Teachers will also be loading work into their sites for this day. Teachers may also be calling students and parents during this time to ensure that students are keeping up with their second-semester classes. Edgenuity students should log in as well and work throughout the day.

Parents, please speak with your children tonight and make sure they are taking advantage of this opportunity to get extra support that they might need to learn the content they may struggle with as they will have a great opportunity for some one-on-one or small group support. If your child is not able to log in due to illness, please email Torri Coldwell at [email protected] and email the teachers directly to let them know.

Students who need access to school breakfast and lunch may come to the HS between 9-11 a.m. to grab a bagged breakfast/lunch for the day. If a student cannot make it to the HS during those hours, please call the HS office by 10:00 a.m. (775-423-2181) and leave your name and address where a meal can be delivered. The district will make every effort to get that meal out as quickly as possible to you.

They strung them along for years until they had no financial choice but to accept and get out. My Dad even hauled water for the Snow ranch trying to stay afloat. May God bless you all. I truly pray it works out for you.Comment publication date: 3/28/26, 9:22 PMComment source: Local Rancher Says Navy Land Expansion is Devastating His Family RanchComment author: Lynn JohnsonComment text: I remember your mother well; she was a lovely and kind woman. I see glimpses of your face in the years worn onto my dad. It makes me feel more connected to you in some way. I remember the familiar kindness from you that I know in my dad. I would’ve really liked to have a good conversation. I only have a handful of memories with you, but you were loving, and you were kind. I wish I was able to say more. If I am someone to you, I hope I make you proud. Thank you Aunt for this sweet post.Comment publication date: 3/27/26, 12:11 AMComment source: Obituary -- Randolph Floris Banovich C Comment author: RBCComment text: The Navy should reimburse the market cost of replacing the grazing land they are taking.
