On Monday, the Fallon City Council held a special meeting to appoint Sean Rowe to the position of Deputy City Attorney. He joins Trent deBraga who also serves as a Deputy to Mike Mackedon who has served as the City Attorney since 1993.

Mayor Ken Tedford introduced Rowe, who attended law school at the University of Idaho College of Law in Moscow, Idaho where he became close friends, golfing and studying with Lem Mackedon who was also attending there. Rowe has a graduate degree in English. He was elected in 2010 and served as the District Attorney for Mineral County, serving there for eleven years.

Prior to his elected service, Rowe worked as a deputy district attorney, as the Mineral County Public Guardian, and as an attorney in his general practice law firm. His career has been focused on seeking justice on behalf of his community and clients, improving governance, and developing community resources.

Along with his wife, Jessica who serves Western Nevada College as the Director of the Fallon Campus, and their four children Rowe enjoys being outdoors hiking in the Sierras and exploring the Great Basin region.

Rowe will fill the position previously held by Lem Mackedon who recently passed away.

Comment author: Patti Cole Comment text: Marie will be forever treasured in memories. The memories remain of a soft-spoken, seemingly unassuming but determined individual who absolutely knew what path she wanted to take in life, and followed it. Her instinctive reactions, which highlighted her steadfast level of love and caring for her family, friends and all living things found in nature, hold lessons for us all. An unexpected splash of her self-deprecating humor, coupled with uncanny timing, will always bring a smile. For me, Marie lives on in the sighting of a Black-crowned night heron in the tules, the bloom of a beautiful spring flower and, most poetically, in the struggle of wildlife photographers handling their very large camera lenses.
