Joint Operation Leads to Methamphetamine and Firearms Bust

Joint Operation Leads to Methamphetamine and Firearms Bust
Task Force activity on Joel Way

Author: Ginny Bragg

On August 2, 2021, the Nevada Department of Public Safety- Investigation Division’s North Central Narcotic Task Force (NCNTF) conducted a joint operation with the Churchill County Sheriff’s Office, Fallon Police Department, Nevada Department of Public Safety- Parole and Probation Division, and the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) in Fallon, Nevada in relation to an ongoing methamphetamine investigation.

During this operation, the subject of the investigation, Jerry Cisneros, was arrested and booked into the Churchill County Jail for several counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, Sales of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Stolen Property.

A residential search warrant was also executed at a residence on Joel Way in Fallon, Nevada. This search warrant resulted in the location of multiple firearms one of which was stolen and approximately 1,200 grams (2.6 Lbs.) of methamphetamine.  As this investigation is ongoing, no other information can be released at this time.

The North Central Narcotic Task Force is comprised of detectives from the Nevada Department of Public Safety-Investigation Division, the Fallon Police Department, and the Churchill County Sheriff’s office.

According to the Task Force Supervisor, “The NCNTF’s mission is to identify, infiltrate, disrupt, and ultimately dismantle Drug Trafficking Organizations.  To that end, the Nevada Department Of Public Safety- Investigation Division and the NCNTF routinely partner with local agencies and neighboring Narcotic Task Forces to combat the trafficking and distribution of controlled substances.”

Drug court is a good program,as long as you wNt to help yourself and sober up not for the 18 months to 24 months but for your life. If not you do the crime go do the time and stop wasteing tax payer dollars. mason ,from ytown

I would have to respectively disagree about drug court working in Fallon. If you look up the names of people in local court over drugs online in articles in Fallon Post, LVN, and Nevada Appeal, you see the same names over and over at a 1-year or 2-year interval. It's a revolving door for them, right back out in the community associating with the same people and never getting away from drugs. I agree with the comment about incarceration because it keeps them away from drugs, people who use drugs, and this community with little opportunity for them. If they go into NDOC, they may get into better programs or see there is a world beyond Fallon if they are so bored here that they can't stop partying.

Only attacking the meth problem from the supply side is like playing whack-a-mole, one down and another one pops up. If you really want to eradicate meth here, you need to attack the demand side. Start incarcerating every user, even first time offenders, to the maximum sentence allowable. When they are all out of the community, the suppliers will no longer be here. Not sure why the meth problem has been allowed to perpetuate for decades here, other than job security for law enforcement, courts, and the rehab center.

They negotiate with drug makers to get reduced pricing for medications, but they historically have not passed along those savings to patients. https://www.ftc.gov/system/files/ftc_gov/pdf/pharmacy-benefit-managers-staff-report.pdf MFN: Most Favored Nation pricing is a policy that means a country agrees to offer the same trade concessions (like tariffs or price reductions) to all member nations of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
